Our customer DirectExchange.be needed a platform to digitalize their sales. At that time, they didn’t have a website yet to sell foreign cash.
Of course, this wasn’t as easy as building yet another webshop, since the financial sector is under strict government supervision, and most definately when it comes to online transactions.
Since DirectExchange focuses on the whole of Belgium, it was important to have the website available in three languages.
The website also had to give confidence to new customers to make a purchase.
The needs and our solution
There was no standard solution for this type of webshop yet.
We combined an existing framework with lots of custom development. In this way it was not necessary to rebuild standard things like eg. a shopping cart from scratch.
The platform had to comply with the rules of the financial sector in Belgium, imposed by the government.
We personally guided DirectExchange in finding and applying the regulations regarding online transactions of this type. We were often in communication with the authorities ourselves.
Given their target audience, they needed a website in three languages.
We took care of an easy accessible language switcher on top of the pages.
The website had to give confidence to new customers to make a purchase.
We provided an attractive looking and serious design, and clear visuals that highlight the benefits for the customer in a few glances.
Thanks to an extensive cooperation with DirectExchange and the combination of a standard framework with custom development, we were able to bring a secure, compliant and unique platform live.
