Undo Send in Outlook for Mac & outlook.office.com

We’ve all done it, sending out a message that has typos, missing attachments, incorrect recipients, or… worse. No need to panic!

Now you can finally use the Undo Send command to cancel a message before it’s sent. This feature is new in Outlook for Mac, and is around for a while in the web version. But… you need to activate it.

How to activate the Undo Send feature in Outlook for mac:

  1. To set up a delay before sending messages, select Outlook > Preferences > Composing.

  2. In the Composing dialog box, set the delay time (5, 10, 15, or 20 seconds).
Once the delay has been set up, a prompt appears at the bottom of the app each time you send an email. The prompt will remain visible for the length of time you’ve set in your preferences.
  3. Click Undo to cancel the send action and reopen your email draft.

How to activate the Undo Send feature in Outlook online:

  1. At the top of the page, select Settings > View all Outlook settings.

  2. Select Mail > Compose and reply.
  3. Under Undo send, choose how long Outlook will wait to send your messages.
  4. Select Save.

  5. Click Undo to cancel the send action and reopen your email draft.

That’s it! Have fun sending (hopefully) error-free emails!
